The 2014 MY Alfa MiTo (pictured) get small tweaks and a more powerful TwinAir engine. We like the Alfa Romeo MiTo; it’s an underrated car and should be higher on most buyers’ wish lists. LAND Rover is taking the performance SUV fight to Porsche as the Brit luxury car maker has unveiled a 550 horsepower version of its popular Range Rover Sport. The car, which is being launched at the prestigious Pebble Beach concourse event, is the fastest, most powerful Land Rover ever produced and the first to wear the SVR designation being adopted by future Land Rover and Jaguar high-performance models. The Range Rover Sport SVR accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and boasts a top speed electronically limited to 162mph plus a Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of 8 minutes 14 seconds – one of the fastest times ever recorded by a production SUV.
Mazda & Alfa to jointly develop a new roadster
Alfa Romeo and Fiat have signed an agreement to build a new new RWD roadster based on the next generation Mazda MX-5 platform. Sergio Marchionne is a big believer that the only way to survive as a mainstream car maker is to be as big as possible and share development costs whenever you can. Which explains – from the Fiat point of view – why Alfa Romeo has entered in to an agreement to produce a new roadster with Mazda to be based on the next generation Mazda MX-5 RWD platform.
